Just the first try, but... 18.09.2013
After checking with Brownell's techs, and getting a negative, I decided to take a chance and try this on a 7 mag. I had already determined that the factory part would not hold its shape from a failed try. The main material of the Brownell's is not quite a thou thicker than the original. The hook seems correctly located. The hook itself is about 0.010" thicker than the 7 mag. But bevels normally have to be cut anyway, so I figured that that could come down with the rest. After bevelling, I discovered that the rivet head must be fully flush, unlike "normal fit". But that was also easy with the stone still in the grinder. IT WORKED! Also, with normal instructions to "bend the ends in", the '06 head took care of that. Both bends at the end of the hook required some straightening. But I should give the standard disclaimer that your results may vary. Brownell does NOT recommend this, nor do I at this stage. I'll have to do a couple more to feel confident. But that will be my first choice next time.

My extractor start slippin off the rounds while cycling the bolt. I had about 2300 rds on it. I know better than to do a Sako mod to a Remmy bolt so I got the original style...very easy to do. Extracts round wit ease...let's see another 2300 minimum. This extactor lips is about 2 millimeters wider than original. Should last a lot longer
