These certainly are not my favorite grips but unfortunately they are on two different guns that I recently purchased. To start off, these have to be the ugliest grips ever produced for the K-Frame. They look like something that belongs on a Taurus. Second complaint: they are too rubbery and the compound gets very sticky feeling. Finally, I don't like the mounting system which makes the grip longer than it needs to be. Bottom line, if you want a nice grip with finger grooves, buy Pachmayr Grippers.

I have medium sized hands and use this grip on all my S&W K-framed revolvers and I wouldn't use anything else.

from the other review I thought this was going to be a hard job and at first it did seem hard but after you figure it out they go right on and I put them on my ruger old army and when my old army SS gets here I will get another and one for my blackhawk 357. Yes they are that good feel great in my hand

I agree with the previous review about the poor fit. I have a 158 series Security-Six and after installation the backstrap is not flush with the grip. The grip is raised above the backstrap, creating two edges digging into your hand. Trimming them will neither be precise, nor aesthetically pleasing. It's a shame because they would otherwise be exellent.

Attempted to install grip, but the screw would not fit into the bottom of the grip. Had to slowly drill it out to get it to work. I needed to put a few washers on the inside to keep it from threading too deep into the grip. Terrible fit overall. Ended up removing and looking for a new grip.

I have these style grips on a few of my S/W shooter handguns that have the pricey factory wooden target grips, I remove the wood target grips to avoid possible damage to them when I shoot, and install these rubber grips.

I like the feel, look, and ease of installation, and if damaged, I replace them. Well made , priced right, and I recommend them.

I use the gun for conceal carry as well as plunking, this grip changed the gun completely for me, I changed where your middle finger rests so it's not behind the trigger guard and eats up more recoil than I ever thought it could. Thanks to this grip I will be able to shoot the .357 shell for fun and not have to shoot only the .38 to save my hands

Although it wasn't an 'upgrade' of my doing, it certainly is the best upgrade of ANY factory handgun I own. It is probably the SINGLE most important factor, besides the "Backpacker" being .44 caliber and a short barrel, for having bought it while living in Montana. Ergonomics are fantastic and the slight 'tackiness' is a huge plus in wet/cold or dry/hot conditions. Enough to put fear in man OR beast...and feel good while doing it! Will never part with it. Oh, there are NO 'cons'...

Putting this grip on a Ruger Blackhawk almost requires 3 hands. 1. It's extremely tight. using 2 credit cards or plastic shim on the sides because the rubber catches on the grip frame and won't allow the frame to slide in. Maybe a lubrication might help. 2. The screw anchor at the bottom of the frame scratches the hell out of the anodized aluminum frame. Of course once it's installed you won't see the scratches. 3. On the plus side it makes the revolver easier to control. Recommend only if the above doesn't matter to you.

A must use, great fit, does not significantly affect concealment, no regrets.
Install one and you will see the positive difference.

perfect fit on the Taurus model 44, the pin in the frame must be removed so you will need to do some stuff particulary in this case, nice grip, it looks great, feels great.

These grips were a replacement for original, 686+, old one just wore out. These, I think, are what S&W used as OEM. Can't beat the price!

These low cost grips are perfect for any use, these go on all my S&W revolvers, nice having the same exact feel. easy to remove as oils / cleaners will eventually affect the rubber.

This is a very nice grip for my Ruger SP101 2-1/4". It allows your hand to completely get a good grip on the little Ruger. It is, however, a little larger than the factory grips, this will affect concealment when carrying.

These Hogue square butt grips come standard on new S&W 629s. They provide excellent, consistent, repeatable grip on my 629 6" 44 Mag. The round butt model is easier to conceal and if anything provides a better grip & control. Mystery to me why S&W puts the square butt model on their round butt 629s, but they must have a reason...

Why doesn't Hogue make a palm-fitting square grip for the taurus small frame? The rounded grip just doesn't work.

I have Ruger GP 100 with old style grip - rubber and rose wood. I do not like feeling in my hand... But when I install Hogue Rubber Grip on my GP 100 I receive a brand new gun! Grip is like part of my hand, very comfortable for CCW and for one hand shooting with .357 Magnum!!!

I ordered this grip for my Ruger Police Service Six in .357 magnum. I bought the gun used a few years back, and the former owner had Pachmayr size large grips on it rather than the original wood grips. I have rather short fingers and the large grip caused me to have to pull the trigger with the tip of my finger, causing the skin between my first and second finger joint to get pinched between the trigger and trigger guard every time I shot.
This grip solved that problem and made my Ruger a joy to shoot. It really fits the form of the hand well and gives me great stability for non-competitive target shooting. My friends and family with larger hands also love the grip too, so clearly its not just for those with smaller hands like myself. It is just plain rubber, so I was somewhat concerned about durability, especially for the price, but for my shooting purposes (as a non-duty or competitive shooting gun) it has been fine.
The texture is average for a rubber grip. It's not super grippy like the "golfball" pattern 1911 grips that are popular with military and competitive shooters, but it is a very good upgrade from regular wood grips, and for me the hard plastic Pachmyr grips also. For the price I don't think you can go wrong with this grip if it is for a general use firearm.
The only aggravation I had was that there was about a 2mm flap sticking out on the rear strap once the grips were installed. These grips say they are for the Security Six, but the Service Six (as I have) is virtually the same so that should not have been the cause as far as I know (I admit I could be wrong there, although I doubt it). Because of this I had to trim it with a razor blade for a flush fit, as the flap was very annoying. Afterwords I took a flat piece of metal and heated it with a lighter to smooth over the area I trimmed. It doesn't look as pretty as if the grip was molded to a perfect fit to begin with, but it is not overly noticeable either and since this is a general use gun and not a trophy gun it's not a big deal to me. This may matter to you however if you don't want to fiddle with the fit. Overall I feel that I have little to complain about for the money, and plus the fit to my hand is superior to other more expensive grips I looked at.
